RELEASSE BLITZ & REVIEW: Dropout by Jamie Schlosser

JIMMY
Over the past year, I’ve been called a lot of things. Slacker. Troublemaker. Party animal.
I thought I was on top of the world. Turns out, I was pretty close to rock bottom.
Now I have a new title: college dropout.
Talk about a reality check.
But I’ve got a chance to redeem myself. One summer to turn things around. Two months to prove I’m not a complete f*ck-up.
It’s time to change.
I want to get back to being one of the good guys.

MACKENNA
I have everything I need to live out my dream of being a reclusive songwriter—my guitar, my notebook, and blissful silence.
At least, I did until Jimmy moved in next door.
With tattoos, piercings, and mischievous green eyes, he’s got bad news written all over him. And last time I got with a bad boy, it ended horribly.
Jimmy makes me feel things I shouldn’t feel. Want things I shouldn’t want. He’s a hazard to my carefully laid plans.
But he’s only here for two months.
I can resist him...right?

*Although DROPOUT is part of a series, it can be enjoyed as a standalone.*

Jimmy Buffet’s ‘Cheeseburger in Paradise’ blared through the house, and I followed the music to the kitchen. I wasn’t sure what I would find, but as long as it wasn’t my neighbor making out with her neighbor I was good.
Turning the corner, I stopped dead in my tracks at the sight in front of me.
It wasn’t Beverly. Or Ernie.
And I most definitely wasn’t good.
A guy wearing nothing but camo-print underwear and a peach-colored apron stood in front of the stove. He was facing away from me, and I caught sight of a large tattoo—angel wings—across the expanse of his muscular back.
Surprised, I let out a high-pitched squeak. The sound got the stranger’s attention and he started to pivot in my direction.
My eyes fell to his sculpted ass, the muscles flexing as he shifted his weight from one foot to the other. He wore briefs. Not boxers or boxer-briefs—actual tighties. No guy should look good in those, but damn, he did.
His black hair was shorter on the sides and longer on top. Some of the inky strands fell over his forehead, falling to just above his bright green eyes.
His lips were parted in surprise, and something flipped in my stomach at the sight of his mouth. The bottom lip was twice the size of the top. Plump. Pouty.
Dark tattoos painted his chest and he had colorful flowers down the length of his left arm. And…
Is that a nipple piercing?
Because of the apron, I couldn’t see his abs, but my guess was that he had a solid six-pack under there.
I opened my mouth to say something—anything.
I wanted to ask him what he was doing in Beverly’s house. Or apologize for walking in on him while he was naked.
Instead, my social awkwardness presented itself full-force with the words that tumbled out of my mouth next.
“If you tried to hide in the woods, at least no one would be able to see your ass.”
His emerald eyes widened. “What?”
Figuring he probably didn’t hear me the first time because of the loud music, I raised my voice. “Camouflage underwear. Your butt would totally blend in with the bushes.”
Looking like he was caught between laughing and being outraged, he opened his mouth to respond.
Then all hell broke loose.

Jamie Schlosser grew up on a farm in Illinois surrounded by cornfields. Although she no longer lives in the country, her dream is to return to rural living someday. As a stay-at-home mom, she spends most of her days running back and forth between her two wonderful kids and her laptop. She loves her family, iced coffee, and happily ever afters.

Dropout was fantastic. This is the third book in the good guys series by Jamie Schlosser.

After too much partying, fighting and bad grades jimmie is fast on his way to becoming a college dropout. He is sent to live with his grandmother for the summer to straighten himself out and redeem himself in his parents eyes, which is where he meets and falls for her next door neighbor mackenna.

She's a songwriter with a difficult past she's trying to escape and move on with her life. Mackenna is a recluse who prefers her own company than that of others after having everyone turn on her after the incident when she was a teenager.

After trying everything to make him go away and failing miserably, mackenna decides to let Jimmy in for a summer fling as long as he follows the rules she sets out. Somewhere along the way the rules get forgotten, and things between the two become real.

Jimmy is a real smooth talker with a heart of gold and the bad boy looks to make a girl crazy.
Mackenna is a sweetheart who is full of ambition, such a strong woman even after all life has thrown her way.
Together they make an amazing couple.
The secondary characters in this are great, especially grandma with her sassy attitude and foul language she had me laughing so hard.
Great story overall definitely a must read. Can't wait for what is next in this series.

RELEASE BLITZ & REVIEW: Deathless by Anne Malcom

Title: Deathless
Series: The Vein Chronicles #2
Author: Anne Malcom
Genre: Paranormal Romance/Urban Fantasy
Release Date: April 25, 2017

Blurb

My life was never black and white.

Heck, it wasn’t even black, white and gray.

Lines were not drawn between good and evil, and if they were, I would have jumped those suckers for fun.

But now it was simpler. It wasn’t black and white. Or gray. It was only one thing.

Blood.

A crimson-tinted world. That was all I needed.

All I wanted.

Him.

Despite the war raging around us, or the secrets between us, there was nothing simpler than blood.

It didn’t matter that it would be fatal.

After all, it’s the things we’re not undead without that will kill us in the end.

OMG!!! Paranormal is my JAM!! I loved this book!!! I think I need to go and read the first book in this series as well, as I felt like I was missing a lot as it is a continuation of the first book.

This heroine is totally Kick Ass! I mean seriously, confident, strong, independent and so comfortable with herself. I fell in love with her! And Thorne, Holy Smoke...

”If evil is your heart, your soul, then I’m evil too, baby. And no way is it wretched. Even if it is, your wretched heart is mine forever. And my wretched heart is yours.”

This book was full of action, twists and so many shocking things happening, that it will keep you hooked from beginning to end. Loved the Greek mythology and for those that read the first book, I'm sure this one will just make you fall in love even more with this series.
And for once its about a female vampire heroine.

I can't tell you what this is about as I feel you need to read book 1 first and then do book 2. But for me it was right up there with Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunter series (that I absolutely love)

So I will be starting at Book1 and re-reading book 2 to get the whole picture. And I might change my review again, lol

But I have to say if you love Paranormal books. Love Greek Mythology then I suggest you READ THIS SERIES! Definitely adding to my favorite Paranormal pile!

RELEASE BLITZ & REVIEW: Shopping for a CEO's Wife by Julia Kent

Title: Shopping for a CEO's Wife

Series: Shopping for a Billionaire #12

Author: Julia Kent

Genre: Romantic Comedy

Release Date: April 25, 2017

Blurb

Snowbound. Sounds so romantic, with visions of cuddling before a roaring fire, hot chocolate spiked with brandy, and a secret elopement.
Wait. What?
My fiancé's father won't stop trying to turn our pending wedding into a three-ring media circus so he can get free publicity for his family's Fortune 500 company. My mother has decided she's done with All Things Wedding and asks her teacup Chihuahua for mother-of-the-bride advice.
They've all gone certifiably mad.
Then the stress from the wedding puts my mother in the hospital, I scream at my future father-in-law in front of a camera crew and the video goes viral, and the romantic wedding that started with Andrew's grand Pride and Prejudice proposal looks less like Jane Austen and more like Dostoyevsky.
So what do you do when you're a fixer and you can't fix something?
You give up on it.
Not on Andrew, silly.
The wedding.

Shopping for a CEO's Wife is the 12th book in Julia Kent's New York Times bestselling Shopping series. As Shannon and Declan enjoy their newlywed bliss, Andrew's father wants to exploit Amanda and Andrew's nuptials, much to Amanda's chagrin. Can she learn to stand up to her future father-in-law and fight for what's right? But the real question is: will Spritzy the teacup Chihuahua end up being a flower girl?

Another great read by Julia Kent!
I adored Amanda and Andrew in this, it had it all. It was funny, sweet, and extremely witty very well written with fantastic characters and this continued story line that captivates us and keeps us wanting more. I couldn't put it down. This is the third book that follows these two and their relationship and it's just as good as the first two. Can't wait for more in this series
