Sarge walks into the kitchen and looks between the coffee all over the fridge door, the smashed porcelain on the ground and me, chuckling.

“That went well,” he says and lets his own laughter rip from his lips. “Heard her shrieking like a banshee out in the yard.”

“She wants to go home.” I rub my hands over my eyes and try to relax, but knowing she’s pissed isn’t great for me.”

“Women are different,” Sarge says with a shrug.

“Tell me about it.”

“Sometimes it’s best to shut the fuck up and not fight ‘em.” Sarge sits in the chair that Nix was sitting in.

“You pussy-whipped?” I ask as I feel my eyebrows draw together in question.

“Hmmm.” He reverts back to normal Sarge. “Women wanna be told what to do, but you need to make it look like it’s their idea.”

“That’s fucked. She should just do what I say and be happy with it.”

Sarge shakes his head. “She’s right, you’re a dick.”

I absolutely loved this book.  So surprising at every turn.  I devoured it with so much hunger that I didn’t want it to finish.  It definitely lives up to its title GRIT.

Jaeger & Nix – what a mix of a couple.  Definitely chalk and cheese.  But their sparks and fireworks were fabulous.

Jaeger is your arrogant, egotistical bad mouthed, no filter arrogant alpha male who really only has one thing on his mind.  He will stop at nothing to get what he wants.

Nix is your headstrong, independent woman trying to stay afloat after her father left her with a huge gambling debt.  But she doesn’t realize the extent of what her father left behind.  She’s a little rocket and not afraid to stand up for herself.

Jaeger rode in on his damned motorcycle, and the moment I opened the door I knew I was in trouble.

Their coming together has fireworks, and then at every single turn you are just waiting for them to go off again … Tick Tock, Tick, Tock….

Margaret McHeyzer really brought this story together seamlessly.  The plot is excellent.  The writing is excellent.

It was so intense and full on that it had you cringing at times as well as laughing at the OMG moments.  She really does bring out your emotions in one way or another with her brilliant writing style and her remarkable way of telling a story.

The story really did have everything.  It’s gritty and twisted, raw and corrupt, sexy, erotic and powerful.  It keeps you hanging on every word as to what is to come next.  It even has a surprise cameo which was fantastic.

Is it possible that Jaeger and Nix have a future?  How can they fall for each other coming from different sides of the tracks?  Will they be able to resist each other?

I don't do romance, Nix. I don't do pretty and soft. I'll tell you what I want, how I want it and although you may not like how I say it, it'll always be the truth.

Can Jaeger change his ways for Nix?  Will Nix accept him for who he is?

I don’t want to give too much away, but I will say – READ IT, YOU WILL LOVE IT.

I love the fact that Margaret McHeyzer writes these brilliant stories that keep me entertained to no end.  I could read her books over and over and never tire of them.  Her brain works in mysterious and wonderful ways that amazes me at every turn of the page.

Love your work Margaret McHeyzer.

I don't do 'normal'. I've found that the more I write, the more I like being different to other authors. I write in first person, and I love to challenge a reader. I take the normal and switch it around. For me, I really enjoy getting a reaction from a reader. So if I can evoke an emotion (regardless of if it's the emotion the reader wants) then I figure that I've done my job as an author I want to be. I really quite revel in taking people out of their comfort zones and pushing them to read something different. My genre of writing is, well quite frankly, where ever my mind goes. I won't label myself because I don't like sticking to one genre. My goal with writing is just to take people away from whatever is going on in their lives, even if it's only for a split second. I'm a go with the flow sort of person and don't really take a course of action to get where I am going. I live in the moment and don't usually worry about tomorrow because whatever life is due to bring me, I'll be happy to accept. I love my family and friends and will help anyway I can if someone needs it. I really don't like people that are nasty just because they can be, I don't believe that's necessary, I mean life's hard enough as it is! I hope you enjoy my books, I've had a hoot writing them. There's more to come..... Til next time. M xx
