Exclusive Interview

NIH - Is Tali Alexander a pen name or your real name?
TA - Just like my novels my name is also part reality laced in fiction!

NIH - How easy /hard is writing for you?
TA - It's easy for me to write but it's hard for me to reread my work and make it sound easy for someone else to enjoy it effortlessly.

NIH - How long have you been writing?
TA - About a year.

NIH - What did you do before you began writing or published your first book?
TA - I'm a doctor of pharmacy by education. My husband and I own pharmacies in NYC. I've also owned children's high-end clothing boutiques in NYC.

NIH - Do you write full time or part time?
TA - Full time.

NIH - What does writing bring to you?
TA - It gives me an escape a purpose. It's incredible the feeling I get when I listen to my readers describe how my writing made him or her feel.

NIH - What inspires you to write?
TA - Everything and everybody.

NIH - Shoes – we love shoes.  Do you have a favourite pair of shoes you write in?  Tell us about your love of shoes.
TA - Well, I'm sure it's no secret that I'm obsessed with shoes. I try and write in different shoes for every new scene. I have my writing shoes all documented on my Instagram account for your viewing pleasure.

NIH - What motivates you to write and in everyday general life?
TA - I want to be able to know that strangers trust me enough and agree to go on a journey that I've created for them. I want to be able to take them through different emotions and in the end leave them feeling breathless. Knowing I can do that is a natural high for me.

NIH - Do you have a mentor that you turn to for help?
TA - There are lots of authors that have been instrumental in my writing career. I never shy away from advice and I look up to authors like Tarryn Fisher, Aleatha Romig, and Colleen Hoover who are very generous with their fans and advice to newbie authors like me.

NIH - Who is your favourite character in any of your books and why?
TA - Louis Bruel is my favourite character because of his evolution in my novel LOVE IN REWIND. We go through so many emotions as we grow with him. If you ask readers their opinion of him at different stages of the book you'll get very different answers. We hate, love, hate, love him… I love that.

NIH - How do you connect with your characters?
TA - They talk to me. Lol. I try to infuse as much non-fiction into my fictional stories as I can get away with.

NIH - How do you feel writing sexy, erotic scenes?  Do you write them with experience or lots of research?
TA - Both. I use experience and I do lots of research. I pride myself in describing each sexual scene to give the reader a different experience every time.

NIH - What is your favourite thing to do other than writing?
TA - Reading and shoe shopping.

NIH - What research do you do to write the stories you write?  How in depth is your research?
TA - I travel a lot to be able to vividly and accurately describe places I mention.

NIH - How do your ideas begin?
TA - They begin as notes in my writing pad, which I carry with me everywhere.

NIH - For those of us that don’t know much about you, what is the one thing you want to be known for?
TA - I hope people enjoy my stories and know that I write for my own and their pleasure. I'm not writing to get rich, I'm just writing for smiles.

NIH - What types of books do you like to read?
TA - I like books that wreck me, destroy me and leave me gasping for air.

NIH - Tell us a little about yourself?  Something more than is in your Bio.  Or tell us something that none of your fans would know.
TA - I speak three languages (Hebrew, Russian and English). I met my husband when I was 18 and we have been married for almost 15 years. We have three daughters (all their names start with the letter R) I have a white teacup shih-tzu. We split our time between NY and Miami.

NIH - How did writing begin for you?
TA - I was bored on a beach in St. Lucia and I just started typing and 7hrs later I was starting to get the hang of it and didn't stop until I got to 100K words.

NIH - How did this story become to be your first published work?  What drove you to write this story first?
TA - It was floating in my head and I made it real by writing it down.

NIH - What would your advice be for a budding writer/author?
TA - I don't think I'm seasoned enough as an author to dish out advice. I'm still learning myself.

NIH - Which author do you admire and why?
TA - Most of the authors I admire are dead. I am however obsessed with Stephen King, I think he's a genius and I love how generous he is with his wisdom. I'm in love with Tarryn Fisher (in a non lesbian kind of way) I just love the way her brain works.

NIH - What other stories can we look forward to seeing from you?  Can you give us any synopsis?
TA - I'm currently writing book II in the Audio Fool series, which is the continuation to LOVE IN REWIND.

NIH - If your book/story was made into a move, who would play your leading characters?  Would you keep the same title as the book?
TA - Louis Bruel: Henry Cavill or David Gandy (which is who everybody visualizes)
TA - Emily Marcus: Kate Upton
TA - Sara Klein: Kate Moss
TA - William Knight: Jacey Elthalion

NIH - Do you let your husband, parents, children, friends read your books?
TA - Yes, yes, no, yes…

NIH - If you were to date one of your characters who would it be and why?
TA - Louis Bruel but I'd have to be Emily to keep his attention so I'll stick with my husband.

NIH - What book are you reading now?
TA - I'm reading "On Writing" by Stephen King.

NIH - Do you believe in Insta-love?  Why?
TA - Yes, I fell in love with my husband the second our eyes locked. I only write about things I know.

NIH - Have you ever received a reviewed that shocked you or made you cry or even had you jumping in excitement?
TA - Yes, many reviews do that to me. I'm very emotional and when readers tell me their feelings and thoughts on my writing and if it's the exact feelings I was hoping to stir in them I get very excited.

NIH - How did you come up with the title?
TA - Just made sense with the story. My characters talk in 80's song lyrics to each other and the story is a love story told backwards… so LOVE IN REWIND made factual sense.

NIH - How much of your books are real – how much a fiction?
TA - 80/20 I won't tell you which is which.

NIH - Are the experiences in the story based on someone you know or events in your own life?
TA - Yes and no

NIH - Have you ever met real life people like your characters?
TA - Yes

NIH - What does your daily ritual consist of?
TA - Coffee, Lays potato chips, writing… repeat

NIH - Have you ever been arrested?  Reason?
TA - No

NIH - Have you been a victim of internet trolls?
TA - No

NIH - Have you ever given a bad review?
TA - No.  If I have nothing nice to say I stay quiet.  I'm not just a reader anymore!  As an author if I can't help another author with my words of praise I certainly won't be hurting them.  I don't owe society my opinion, just myself.

NIH - How do you take in or deal with a bad review?
TA - A review is a review good or bad I'll take it. You can't only get good reviews! You need the bad reviews to appreciate and be thankful for the good ones.

NIH - What is the weirdest request you have received from your fans?
TA - I haven't been asked for anything weird. My fans are all cool… so far.

NIH - Do you own a pair of CFM heels?  If so – do you leave them on during sex?
TA - Yes and Yes.

NIH - Has a particular book ever made you so horny that you jumped your partner?
TA - The audio book for my novel LOVE IN REWIND is off the charts sexy; especially with the male narrator reading Louis' parts. ((heart-failure))

NIH - What is your favourite movie and why?
TA - Love Story… it destroys me every time I watch it

NIH - Do you live by any particular mantra?
TA - "Live and let live"

NIH - Favourite music?
TA - 80's songs obviously

NIH - Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?
TA - That sometimes in life things aren’t what they seem.

Review (by Trish)

5 intense, passionate, powerful STARS

Tali Alexander – what an EPIC love story you wrote.  Thank you, thank you, thank you for bringing us Louis Bruel and Emily (Marcus) Bruel.   Incredible.  Sexy.  Sensual.  Controversial.  Dramatic.  Suspenseful.   Heart wrenching.  Beautiful.  Overwhelming.  Ahhhhmaaaziiiing.

I loved every second, every minute, every word in this book.

Your writing is brilliant.  The story was exceptionally written.  It flowed beautifully from one scene to another.  I really just could not get enough.  I loved how Emily told us her story.  Her love story – in rewind – with all its ups and downs until the present day.

And your incorporation of 80’s music lyrics into this story.  So insightful, fascinating and fun.

It was so descriptive and controversial, with so much lust and love, so much despair and hurt, so much misunderstanding and drama, and so much more I want to read.

Louis Bruel – older, wealthy, gorgeous, arrogant, possessive, authoritative, commanding, powerful.

Emily Marcus – young, naïve, pure, innocent and beautiful.

How could you hate Louis Bruel?  I absolutely adored him.  I loved his arrogance, his age and worldly knowledge.  I found him intoxicating and just understood how Emily felt about him.  I loved his primal want of Emily from the moment he laid eyes on her.  I loved how his intentions change from one thing to another.  How Emily made him feel.  How she made him want to be better.  And the fact that Emily – so young, beautiful and innocent, could change a man like Louis – well that blew me away.  It was truly a fairytale love story.  One I was riding the whole time with Emily.

“Are you trying to make me come in my pants in front of all my clients, little girl?” he asked.
Fuck, I need to breathe.  He continued whispering into my ear, making every hair on my body stand at attention.
“I’ve been jerking off to the vision of your tits in that white top for at least two weeks.”

They way Louis talks to Emily.  The way he adores her.  The way he lusts for her.  So passionate, so intense, so sexy.

“Emily … Em … where did you come from?  And what are you doing to me?  I’m too old for you, but I can’t stop.  I can’t think.  I can’t even play it cool.  I want to be inside you so fucking bad … I think I’m gonna explode.

And Emily – how beautiful is she.  Not a hateful bone in her body.  Always so trusting, so loving, so caring.  She is one very lucky, lucky lady.  I would be feeling the same way about Louis Bruel as she did.  How could you not be attracted to Louis Bruel?

But will Emily always be so trusting of Louis?  What does the future hold for her and Louis?  Will she be able to cope with life married to Louis Bruel?

Emily & Louis
I manage to say, “Louis, I’m sorry.  I’ve never done this before,” in a small whisper into his neck.
“Baby, I meant you’re amazing.  I didn’t know there were women like you out there.  I’ve never wanted anything as much as I want you right now.  I’m about to blow my load in my pants like a horny little teenager.
He kissed me and then looked at me with his intense gaze.
“You have these big blue, innocent eyes that I’m slowly drowning in every time I look into them.  Your lips and these fucking tits will be my kryptonite.

I adored the way Louis called Emily “little girl” – so erotic and sexy and almost forbidden.  Knowing she was so much younger than him.  It sent chills down my spine just knowing how much it really meant.  To him and to her.

There is so much more to this book than just Emily and Louis’ love story.  I recommend you read it for yourself if you love a hot, erotic, controversial love story with lots of sex and drama thrown in to the mix.

I love her against reason…against promise…against peace…against hope…against happiness…against all discouragement that could be.”

Tali Alexander -you had me at every word, every sentence, every scene.
OMG I just can’t express how much I loved this story.

Love happens, any time, any place, for every person – no matter what your age is.

I want so much more of Louis and Emily.

5 Amazing Stars

Love In Rewind by Tali Alexander should be on everyone's TBR List.

I enjoyed every minute of this book from start to finish...I didn't want it to end!

I laughed, I cried and screamed at my iphone like a crazy person (luckily in the privacy of my home lol).

I just loved the dynamic of the characters and how this book was written, how from the beginning you're made to believe or think one thing and then see their love story and keep wondering how can it be?

Then get to the end and be like "I knew it, I knew It".

The sexiness of the love scenes in this story are just HOT HOT HOT!!!!

I loved (contrary to what I've heard and read) the "Little Girl" nickname given to Emily from Louis, I think its perfect considering the ages when they met.

Clearly not all books are for everyone but this one is definitely a MUST read!!!

Tali I NEED the next book please......

I didn’t need to look back to know who was behind me. His scent alone added another milliliter of arousal to my underwear. I couldn’t turn around, he was leaning into me so close. I could feel his heat as his wide muscular chest pressed against me, enveloping me. Heart don’t fail me, now. Please don’t stop beating, I kept repeating to myself as my heartbeat started increasing to presto speed.

“Are you trying to make me come in my pants in front of all my clients, little girl?” he asked.

Fuck, I need to breathe. He continued whispering into my ear, making every hair on my body stand at attention. “I’ve been jerking off to the vision of your tits in that white top for the last two weeks.”

I think I officially stopped breathing when he said, “your tits.”

“Please tell me you’re at least eighteen. I really don’t want to go to jail. But I think it might be worth it even if you’re not.”

Okay, Emily, snap out of it. Say something adult and memorable. This was my chance.

“Yeah, I’m eighteen…” I finally said, a little breathlessly. He got a little closer as his whole body shook laughing at my pathetic comment. I could faintly feel something hard bulging out and grazing my lower back. I was afraid of having a spontaneous orgasm if he got any closer.

“Thank … you … God. So you must be Jenna’s little sister?” he asked, sending chills through my overheated body. My underwear was soaked by now. Even I could smell how aroused I was.

“If Mike knew what I wanted to do to his hot little sister-in-law right now, he’d have my balls.”

I still hadn’t turned around. My legs were shaking; my brain was drawing a blank. I was much braver in my fantasies. Thank God there was no one in the kitchen to see us. WAIT! Reality hit me—where was everybody? Shouldn’t the other staff members be helping me with the clean up? Oh my God, can somebody see us? I thought. I remembered the one-way glass and started to turn my head around to check just in case anyone else was there. That’s when Louis Bruel’s lips brushed my cheek as I turned my head. I guess that was the official moment I stopped breathing. I gathered all my strength and turned to face him inside his loose grip. I looked up at him, trying to seem in control of the situation. After what felt like twenty minutes of me craning my head up to his towering height, he broke our silent stare-off.

“I can’t believe how beautiful your eyes are, little girl. They remind me of the water in Turks and Caicos. Your hair is the color of the sand there.”
