I’d like to welcome Eddie
Cleveland to Novels In Heels. Eddie is a
relatively new erotic/romance author.
His first novel, American Bad Boy was a good debut, and I’m looking forward
to reading more stories by Eddie. It’s a
pleasure to have him here today in an interview author spotlight.
As
you may or may not know Eddie is a military veteran who has turned his hand to
writing sexy romance stories. He sees
himself as an adventurer and an artist.
Eddie is from
the Canadian east coast. He spent most of his twenties having reckless
adventures before going back to school. He specialized in pottery and
graphic arts at the College of Craft. With his travel itch still not
fully scratched, he then joined the Royal Canadian Navy. He served his
country with multiple deployments to South America and the
Middle East. He worked part time supporting other authors by designing
covers, editing and plot development. He was recently released from the
Canadian Armed Forces to pursue his passion of writing full-time.
You
know I love interviewing authors and getting an insight into who they are, how
they became authors, and their journey...and let’s not forget, I like to get to
know them a little on the naughty side too.

NIH – How long did you serve in the military? Can you tell us a little about you time
during your service?
I served 12
years with 4 of them being at sea. During my time in the military I deployed
multiple times over my career to South America, the Middle East and Eastern
Europe. My primary job was to draft
intelligence products so I had many opportunities for writing. I was also a diver
while serving aboard the ship.
NIH – How did you decided to begin writing? How did the transition from the military to
romance author come about?
I have
always had an interest in story-telling, some of my favorite memories when I
was young was writing then telling horror stories around the campfire. I began
contemplating a writing career while at sea. There were long periods of
downtime so I had a lot of opportunities to read. After reading a couple
military romances I felt I could contribute to the genre.
NIH - Tell us a little
about yourself? Something that your fans
don’t know about. (Or give us 3 quirky
facts about you?)
· I always have to smell my
deodorant before putting it on.
· I enjoy sneezing and can do it
with my eyes open.
·
I can hold
a pen with my bottom lip.
NIH - Do you see writing
as a full time career now?
Yes, it is
a full time career for me now. Once I decided this is what I wanted to do I put
a plan in place and made it a reality. I left my career with the military, sold
my big house in Ottawa, downsized my car and moved to an old house near Halifax
that cost less than a 5th of the one I sold. Now, with my lower cost of living,
I feel like I can handle the less than stable pay of an author.
NIH – You’re writing about what you know. How much of American Bad Boy is based on true
events and how much is fiction?
The love
story between Mack and Lauren have a lot of parallels with my own life. The big
exception being that my ‘Lauren’ moved on and now has a beautiful family. The PTSD aspect is something I have never
suffered personally but I know way too many people who are living through this
now including my father.
NIH - What are the most
surprising things you learned in creating your books?
First and
foremost: that I could actually write a book. Prior to American Bad Boy the
longest stories I ever wrote were less than 20k words, so to be able do almost
80k was a surprise and a big accomplishment for me.
NIH - How do you feel
writing sexy, erotic scenes? Is there a
lot of research that goes into the scenes, or you write from total experience?
The erotic
scenes are where I crack out the rum, and write what I know. I enjoy writing
erotic scenes, as of now there has been no research, unless you count personal
experience as research. The sex scenes I have written have not been of a
particular kink so they've been easy. I’m open to research/experience for
future books. :)
NIH – What are you currently working on, can you share a
little of it with us?
I am less
than a month away from releasing my second book ‘Grid Iron Bad Boy” here’s an
unedited snippet of an intimate scene between Cameron and Chelsea.
I wrap
my arms around her and the blanket slides off her shoulders, slipping through
my grasp to the ground. My mouth finds hers, I suck her bottom lip in over my
teeth, gently giving her a little nip before our tongues explore each other.
My cock
throbs as it begs to be let free from my pants. I’m desperate to feel her pussy around me, to drag my
tongue over her skin and taste her sweet center. But for now, for this moment,
I will savor her mouth on mine. I run my hand up the back of her neck and
tangle my fingers in her long hair. Chelsea presses her body into mine until
only our clothes are keeping us apart. I run my other hand down her back
slowly, sliding it over her curvy ass. Digging my fingertips into her skin, I
grab a generous handful of her plump cheek and she moans into my mouth, opening
her legs like she’s willing me to keep moving those
fingers forward.
Pulling
back from our kiss, I give her swollen lips a quick peck, then another. I
quickly take her earlobe into my mouth and flicker my tongue over the soft
flesh. Chelsea tilts her head to the side and sighs. I trail my tongue from her
ear down to her neck, giving her a soft kiss and then a quick nip before
kissing away the intensity with another gentle peck.
My
fingers move from her ass down between her thick thighs, sliding my middle
finger softly over the edge of her panties, I press my cock into her, showing
her what she’s done to me.
NIH – You are now part of the Romance & Erotica Author
Fraternity (Bad Boys of Romance). How do
you feel being part of that community?
I really
enjoy my time with the guys. It's a great group of diverse and talented authors
that I'm privileged to count myself among. There's no better group for
connecting with fans of romance that I know of. The members of our group are
fun and interactive, it makes being an author a lot less isolating of a job to
have that group.
NIH - What do you do when
you are looking to have a bit of fun or just want to relax?
I have not
had much time to relax recently, It's been pretty much non-stop for me since I
left the military. I renovated my old house, released my book, retired one day
later, moved about a week after that and now I'm working on my follow up novel!
I'm exhausted just typing all that! However, I'll be renting an Oceanside cabin
as a present to myself once I finish this book.
NIH - Which famous
person, living or dead, would you like to meet and why?
Donald
Trump, just so I could see if he is for real or just putting on a show.
NIH - Who would be your
ideal/dream date?
My
girlfriend right now is my ideal date. :)
NIH - Do you believe in
insta-love? Why?
I most
definitely have fallen in love at first sight.
NIH - What is your one
(top) sexual fantasy? Have you
accomplished it?
A gentleman
never tells :) I'll just leave it at that, I have no unfulfilled dreams or
regrets when it comes to sex.
NIH - If you had a choice
would you choose – flogger, blindfold, handcuffs, restraints, rope, whips,
cane?
As an
ex-Navy guy I’m pretty comfortable with knots so I’ll go with rope.
A huge thank you to Eddie
for hanging out with me today. It was a
real pleasure getting to know you a little.
Hopefully, you all
enjoyed this interview and check out Eddie’s books.

I lost my men, I lost my leg, I lost my career and all I could think of was Lauren.
I left for West Point with two things: a broken heart and a promise to never let it happen again.
Now I'm back in Colorado as a war hero. F*ck that, I'm a celebrity.
And every woman wants to open her legs for Captain America.
So why do I only want her?
***
Even with one leg, Mack Forrester hasn't lost his swagger.
It's been a decade since he left, but under his tattoos I still see the
guy who broke my heart when he chose his country instead of me.
I told myself I was over it. Over him. One glimpse in his crystal blue eyes and I knew it was a lie.
Now he wants me back, but ten years is a long time. There's so much he doesn't know.
Like, that I had his child.
